Enabling EVs to work seamlessly & safely with different chargers

Charging Standards for EV Fleets

Charging standards for electric vehicles (EVs) exist to establish a common framework that ensures compatibility, efficiency, and reliability across various charging infrastructure and EV models. First and foremost, these standards enable interoperability, so different EVs can charge using  various charging stations  regardless of the manufacturer.

For consumers, charging standards are critical to ensure that their vehicles are compatible with public and private charging infrastructure, and there are various critical protocols that enable the roaming of vehicles between networks that will make charging more efficient, as well as protocols that will help with “plug and charge” so consumers will no longer need to use credit cards or RFID cards when using chargers.

For fleets, protocols can be even more critical as fleets can require more advanced functionality and often have more critical duties to perform each day. As large corporations, they also require greater levels of security and resilience and are more sensitive to costs.
